The Martha’s Vineyard Ride will be on this Sunday(05-29-16).  It was rescheduled to the inclement weather.

This will be a follow-the-leader rider for 50 miles.  Bring cash for lunch.  We eat at the reservation on the western side of the island; this is a beautiful area overlooking the water from a high bluff.

Everyone must be at the Ferry building with their tickets at 9:15 AM. We depart on the immediately boarding ferry at 9:30.

You need 4 tickets.  The tickets are valid for arrivals and departures from either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven.

Route Map
Route Map

https://www.strava.com/routes/4969753 has the new map for the route. This year will be different from the last few years. We will take our time on this route. The difficulty level is not high. There are some bits with moderate traffic.

We will roll into Edgartown. We will pass by the Jaws Bridge on the way to Edgartown.

We will take the Middle road on the way to the western part of the island. This is one of the more scenic spots and it features good pavement.

We will have some coastal riding around the area of the Native American reservation. We will stop for lunch at the reservation.

Please ask any questions. Ask mentioned previously it is recommended that you park on the Shining Sea Bike Path and ride to the ferry building. This will take less time than trying to ride the bus from a ferry parking lot.

We will take the 3:45PM ferry from Oak Bluffs to return at approximately 4:30PM. An earlier ferry will run from Vineyard Haven at 2:30, if we make that ferry.

Thanks,

Bill

Weekend up date 05-14-16

We are almost ready with the new club jersey design.  It will complement the old design.  So you can mix and match the shorts and jerseys from different years.

Here is a photo of the group from the Saturday ride from Marshfield.  We do this route once per a month.  It rolls from the Furnace Brook Middle School.  See the ride schedule.  New members are welcome.
